Built in the 1930s to provide the city of Genoa with a state-of-the-art sports facility, the Stadio del Nuoto di Albaro was inaugurated on October 27th, 1935, by Vittorio Emanuele III King of Italy. Designed by Engineer Paride Contri, it is an environment designed specifically for swimming and diving competitions. The year after its inauguration, the project – selected for the national sports architecture competition announced by CONI – was exhibited at the Berlin Art Olympics. Today, lo stadio del Nuoto di Albaro – reopened in 2008 following a major redevelopment project-has become a true sports and leisure village, with a highly qualified
