Over 50 years of Italian excellence in eyewear
Castellani Srl, based in Domegge di Cadore (Belluno, Veneto), recently celebrated its 58th anniversary: a testament to its resilience, adaptability, and dedication to quality. Founded on February 1, 1967, by Danilo Castellani and his wife Dolores, the company has grown from a small family business into a recognized name in the global eyewear industry.
What sets Castellani apart is its unwavering commitment to producing 100% Made in Italy products, proudly certified by the Istituto per la Tutela dei Prodotti Italiani (certification no. 219.107.V). While many manufacturers have pursued outsourcing to cut costs, Castellani has remained loyal to its roots, choosing instead to invest in local craftsmanship, in-house production, and tailored solutions for its clients.
Originally established for the production of molds and metal components, the company evolved to specialize in the design and manufacturing of both metal and plastic optical frames and sunglasses. Flexibility remains a cornerstone of its strategy: Castellani is known for its ability to create unique pieces or entire collections based on customer designs, even in small, customized batches. This responsiveness allows the company to cater to diverse market trends while ensuring Italian quality at 143 CASTELLANI THE SILK ROAD CASTELLANI every stage of production.

The company’s history is deeply intertwined with its founding family. In the mid-1980s, the founders’ children, Marco and Katia, joined the company. In 2000, the firm officially became Castellani Srl, with Marco assuming the role of sole administrator. Today, the company continues to thrive under this family-led management, preserving the values and traditions that shaped its identity.
