HYBRID PVTILE

HYBRID PVTILE

Hybrid Solar Walkable Tile

The patented product concerns a new concept of hybrid walkable solar tile, coated with two types of resin, aiming to achieve total exploitation of the external surfaces, from a functional (effective walkability 365 days a year) and energetic (dual benefits related to thermal and electrical producibility) point of view, particularly in conditions of limited surface availability for energy production.

State of the art

In relation to the relevant technology sector, the closest solutions presented are standard hybrid roof tiles and glass ceramic tiles with photovoltaic cells. The former consist of an integrated system consisting of a glass roof, photovoltaic cells, a heat sink, an insulating cover made of polystyrene (or similar materials) and a mounting bracket for pitched roofs. These panels allow exclusive and limited use on pitched roofs in residential and industrial applications. Glass-ceramic photovoltaic tiles only allow electricity to be used through the integrated photovoltaic cells and cannot be walked on for much of the year due to high temperatures.

Invention

Compared to solar tiles already developed on the market, the object of the invention is equipped with a cooling system that improves the efficiency of the photovoltaic cells, makes thermal energy available through a more efficient heat exchange surface, and allows the entire surface to be walked on 365 days a year. Compared to hybrid solar panels already conceived, the invention is characterised by: a shape that allows for floor application; the use of materials (epoxy/polyurethane resins) that make it walkable and easy to clean and maintain; rapidly realised hydraulic and electrical circuits that allow for easy installation of the tile even by the end user. The resin hybrid roof tile is specifically designed for applications where the constraints on available surfaces are many and sometimes not fully resolved by solutions on the market. The dedicated mould includes dedicated channels with bottom and top coverings and complete system sealing. It is also equipped with special systems for detaching the hybrid tile after casting.
