A new collaboration from which “PERFETTA” is perfectly born
2023 marks the beginning of a new collaboration between Daylight Italia, founded in 2013 by two young enterpreneurs Ivan Pravettoni e Pozzi Hu Jia, and Consuline, founded by Francesco Iannone & Serena Tellini. Since then, the company has been designing, producing, and distributing around the world light bulbs based on a revolutionary concept, a synthesis of cutting-edge technologies, elegant design, and a focus on the sensory aspects of light.The collaboration aims to introduce new products to the international market that strive to create light bulbs and new “purpose-driven illuminators” with a goal beyond “simple illumination”. By mastering recent technologies, Daylight Italia positions itself as a new player intent on making a significant mark in the lighting world, presenting innovative lines, experimental concepts, new technologies, and above all, new “applications of light” and new ways of lighting.
Francesco Iannone and Serena Tellini have worked in the lighting industry since 1976. Throughout their long careers, they have designed lighting for exhibitions and museums, churches, and public spaces across the globe. Among their most notable projects: the lighting of the Shanghai Formula 1 Circuit, the Lighting Master Plan for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the lighting of the National Grand Theatre in Beijing, and the Cultural Center in Shenzhen. Francesco Iannone was also president for many years of the international lighting designers association PLDA. In Monza, they developed the “Monza Method,” a new way to illuminate artworks where light and neuroscience work together to enhance the understanding of the artistic experience. First tested at the Kunst Museum in Vienna, it is now recognized and applied by major international museums.
They have curated the lighting of historic centers and cities in Italy and abroad. Their 1998 urban lighting project for the City of Rome won the National Competition for the illumination of Rome: “Paths of Light in the Rediscovery of the Plans of Sixtus V.” They have designed all kinds of lamps for leading global manufacturers, receiving numerous international awards. For the Star lamp (produced by OYlight) and the Four Seasons System (produced by Performance in Lighting), they were awarded the ADI INDEX Compasso d’Oro in 2006 and 2008, respectively. They won the LUX Award 2018, the ICONIC Award 2018, and the German Design Award 2019 for Palladiano by L&L, the [d]ARC Award 2020 for minimum MAXIMUM by LAM32, and with Perfetta by Daylight Italia, they were shortlisted for the [d]ARC Award 2025. In 2019, they received the PLDR – Professional Lighting Design Recognition for Lifetime Achievement in Lighting. In 2022, they received the Nomination by FRAME and IBA Award for Trade-Fair Stand with the Best Use of Light for the SEDUS booth at Orgatec in Cologne. In 2023, Light Middle East-organized by Messe Frankfurt in Dubai-listed the Monza Method among the top three major trends in the global lighting industry. Today, they have designed Perfetta for DAYLIGHT ITALIA with a specific purpose in mind: Perfetta is a light bulb that can be used anywhere but is primarily conceived for illuminating architectural spaces- both historic and contemporary-“in purity.”
To harmonize with architectural design, it follows the measurements of the Golden Ratio: 1.618. The bulb is constructed from two hemispheres, forming a perfect sphere that completely encloses the lamp holder, hiding it from view. It was designed to represent an absolute volume in space, and the various finishes of the hemispheres help to solve a wide range of visual tasks.
