Polflex is an Italian artisan company that has been a benchmark in the creation of high-end bespoke furniture for over seventy years. Specializing in custom-made solutions for executive offices, conference rooms, hotels, private villas and contract spaces, Polflex embodies a story of passion, craftsmanship and entrepreneurial vision passed down through four generations. Today, this heritage is expressed through unique furniture solutions designed to meet the most advanced requirements of functionality, aesthetics and customization.
The origins of Polflex date back to 1938, when a small artisan workshop was founded and later transformed in 1951 into a manufacturing company specialized in wooden seating and upholstered sofas. From the very beginning, the company’s philosophy has been clear: to create high- quality products, meticulously crafted in every detail and built to stand the test of time.
At the end of the 1960s, Attilio, representing the second generation, joined the company. During the 1970s, he introduced a decisive turning point through an intuition that would define the brand’s identity. Polflex began experimenting with leather, presenting its first metal and leather chair at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in the early 1980s. This milestone marked the company’s entry into the world of high-end Italian design.
From the 1980s onward, leather and, later, fine hide became the signature materials of Polflex collections. Noble materials, carefully selected and entirely handcrafted by skilled artisans within the company’s facility in Artegna, Udine, Italy. All raw materials are exclusively Italian, and every production phase is managed in-house to ensure consistent quality, reliability and stylistic coherence.
Polflex designs and manufactures complete furnishing systems for executive offices, including desks, meeting tables, executive chairs and armchairs, waiting area sofas, pedestals and storage units. Thanks to a wide range of collections, clients can create elegant, harmonious environments by selecting coordinated solutions that combine comfort, prestige and functionality.
In the early 1990s, Marco, the third generation, joined the company, focusing on refining manual production processes and developing increasingly flexible solutions, particularly for meeting tables. From the early 2000s, these products became a hallmark of Polflex, recognized for their high level of customization, structural reliability and attention to detail.
Over the following years, Polflex established an in-house technical and design department capable of developing fully bespoke furniture solutions. Leather is combined with other premium materials such as wood, marble, glass, ceramic and metal, creating refined compositions and one-of-a-kind products designed to meet even the most complex and specific client requirements.
Between 2010 and 2020, the company strengthened its position as a leader in bespoke furniture, delivering exclusive project-based solutions developed in close collaboration with clients. During this period, technological innovation was seamlessly integrated into Polflex’s essential and iconic design language, with the introduction of meeting tables featuring motorized screens, cable management systems, power units, workstations with wireless charging and integrated electrical components, all discreetly embedded to enhance the purity of the design.
In 2020, the fourth generation joined the company, playing a key role in technical development and, above all, in commercial strategy. The goal is to explore new markets, build long-term partnerships and collaborate with architects, interior designers and construction companies, expanding the brand’s presence throughout Europe and across global markets.
Thanks to these collaborations, Polflex has also extended its expertise to residential furniture and home accessories, including mirrors, leather-, wood- or marble-clad wall systems with integrated TV solutions, furniture with built-in minibar units, wine cellars and cigar cabinets, dining tables in marble and ceramic, as well as custom-designed logos and engravings applied to furniture pieces.
