Pimar – We work for ideas that make history

Pimar has specialized for over 150 years in the extraction of stone into blocks and their transformation into products for construction and architecture, as well as the creation of furniture and design elements. The activity of Pimar, nowadays carried out by the Marrocco family, is characterized by the extraction of the Pimar Limestone stone in blocks in its own quarries, a precious deposit that extends over an area of 40 hectares in the particular territory of Salento, in Puglia.
At Pimar, high technology meets the craftsmen’s knowhow. This way the union between craftsmanship, organization and innovation is created. The work on the project itself becomes very important, whether it is architecture or design elements.
The company is equipped with high-tech machinery: this allows it to work and transform the original blocks into products of various sizes and formats, such as coverings, floors, columns, arches, upholstery, balustrades and frames, as well as fireplaces, tables, vases, statues, lamps, benches and various objects.
A department of technical experts, stonecutters, interior architects, and designers guarantees, with its professionalism and specific preparation, a complete assistance to the client, in the exact use of the product as in the maintenance and protection of the stone, up to the implementation . Pimar Design Collection’s projects arise from the digital modeling and are made with modern numerical
control machines.
The finishes are hand made by master craftsmen, and they determine some imperfections: a distinctive sign of uniqueness and craftsmanship that adds value to the product.
The Leccese stone guaranteed by PIMAR has particular ductility qualities, which allow it to be used in different ways in modern construction, for interiors and exteriors, both for large buildings and prestigious hotels, and for exclusive private homes. The limestone constituent components give to Pimar stone compactness, a particular color and a unique structure, thanks to the presence of fossil fragments: the various types extracted differ in color, homogeneity, age and composition. They include beige, white and the gray stone.
Pimar Limestone stone is a continuous source of inspiration for architects and designers from all over the world, who are looking for a multifunctional and one-of-a-kind material. Its natural beauty and bespoke workmanship gave rise to numerous projects, in Italy and abroad, making Pimar the protagonist of projects ranging from retail to restoration to design. For design, architecture and building projects, Pimar has collaborated with real design artists, like Philippe Stark, Alvaro Siza or Renzo Piano, and from the union of their genius and the beauty of Pimar Limestone stone, great works were born.
